Relief Society Announcements

Dear Sisters, Sister Eames gave the lesson today from General Conference addresses in October 2013- Elder  Richard J. Maynes, The Strength To Endure and Sister Bonnie L. Oscarson, Be Ye Converted.  The following are quotes from the lesson: Sister Oscarson states," True conversion occurs as you continue to act upon the doctrines you  know are true and keep the commandments, day after day, month after month."  From Elder Maynes: "Our ability to endure to the end in righteousness will be in direct proportion to the strength of our testimony and the depth of our conversion."  Also from Elder Maynes: " The race that is set before us on this earth is an endurance race filled with obstacles. The obstacles in this race are the challenges we wake up to each morning. We  are here on earth to run the race, to exercise our moral agency, and to chose between right and  wrong. In order to honorably and successfully finish the race and return to our Heavenly Father, we will need to pay the price of dedication, perseverance, and self-discipline. We need to get into spiritual shape. We need to develop spiritual stamina. We need strong testimonies that will lead  to true conversion, and as a result we will find within ourselves the inner peace and strength  needed to endure whatever challenges we may face." Next week’s lesson will be Chapter 15 from the Joseph Fielding Smith manual, Eternal Marriage. Announcements: THIS TUESDAY, Aug 5th- 7 PM- Enrichment night.  “Valentines in August- a night of love.”  Please bring 4 small items to put in a package for missionaries serving from our ward. Come join us- you will “love” it! Saturday, Aug 9th- 9:00 AM- Desert Springs Day of Service.  Please bring gloves, rakes, shovels and trash bags. Sister in Need

Sister Bridget Henderson is in the hospital and will be for a few days.  Their family could use some freezer meals to get them through the next little while.  If you have any or are willing to make any, please either contact our new Compassionate Service leader, Sister Meghan Nebekar at meghannebeker@gmail.com, or reply to this email. Also, if you are planning any fun activities in the next few days and can include Sister Henderson's children, they would love to have the diversion. Thank you for all you do!
