Announcements

Dear Sisters, Sister Taylor’s lesson today was on Bringing Up Children in Light and Truth. Children are still Heavenly Father’s children and in order for these children to withstand Satan’s influence we must raise these children in truth and light. The lesson listed many things, such as teaching our children to pray and read the scriptures, that we can do to help children understand the gospel. President Smith said, “[Children] are given unto us that we might train them in the ways of life, eternal life, that they might come back again into the presence of God, their Father.” Next week’s lesson will be from the following talks on Family History: *Elder Cook’s Conference talk in April 2014 titled, Roots and Branches. *Elder Bednar’s talk from October 2011 titled The Hearts of the Children Shall Turn. *Elder Scott’s talk from October 2012 titled, The Joy of Redeeming the Dead Please print out and bring these talks with you. Relief Society Announcements

Dear Sisters, Sister Eames gave the lesson today from General Conference addresses in October 2013- Elder  Richard J. Maynes, The Strength To Endure and Sister Bonnie L. Oscarson, Be Ye Converted.  The following are quotes from the lesson: Sister Oscarson states," True conversion occurs as you continue to act upon the doctrines you  know are true and keep the commandments, day after day, month after month."  From Elder Maynes: "Our ability to endure to the end in righteousness will be in direct proportion to the strength of our testimony and the depth of our conversion."  Also from Elder Maynes: " The race that is set before us on this earth is an endurance race filled with obstacles. The obstacles in this race are the challenges we wake up to each morning. We  are here on earth to run the race, to exercise our moral agency, and to chose between right and  wrong. In order to honorably and successfully finish the race and return to our Heavenly Father, we will need to pay the price of dedication, perseverance, and self-discipline. We need to get into spiritual shape. We need to develop spiritual stamina. We need strong testimonies that will lead  to true conversion, and as a result we will find within ourselves the inner peace and strength  needed to endure whatever challenges we may face." Next week’s lesson will be Chapter 15 from the Joseph Fielding Smith manual, Eternal Marriage. Announcements: THIS TUESDAY, Aug 5th- 7 PM- Enrichment night.  “Valentines in August- a night of love.”  Please bring 4 small items to put in a package for missionaries serving from our ward.
