Announcements 2/1/15

Dear Sisters,

Our lesson this week was given by Sister Nichole Aldous on Elder Lynn G. Robbins’ talk titled, Which Way Do You Face? There are so many great quotes and thoughts in this talk!  When we try to please man more than God, we are “inverting the first and second great commandments.” “Decisions of character are made by remembering the right order of the first and second great commandments.”  “Thinking we can please God and at the same time condone the disobedience of men isn’t neutrality but duplicity.”  “Lowering the Lords’ standards to the level of a society’s inappropriate behavior is-apostasy.” Sisters, which way do you face?  Which side of the fence are you on?

Our lesson next week will be Chapter3 on free agency from the Ezra Taft Benson manual.

Announcements: 

• Enrichment- February 3^rd (Tuesday) at 6:30 PM.  This will be a Mother/Daughter activity.  Feel free to bring daughters, mothers, grandmothers, nieces, aunts, etc. if you would like to.
• Play Group- Wednesday, Feb 4^th  at 11:00 at the church.   Come one, come all (whether you have kids or not!)  We’d love to have you join us!
• Building Cleaning Schedule- It is our turn to clean the church on Saturday mornings throughout January and February. THIS Saturday, February 7^th  8:00 AM , the following families have this assignment: McFarland, Means, Melendez, Miles(Raymond), Miles (Zachary), Miller (Phillip), Miller(Jeffrey), Moberley, Mohrmann, Mullen, Murray, Navarro, Nebeker, Nielson, Ogan, Olsen, Otake (Angelee), Otake (Richard).  If you are NOT able to make it, please find someone to trade with.  Thank you for doing your part in the upkeep of our facilities.
• Ward Focus for February- The focus of our ward in February will be on sharing the gospel.  We are invited to participate in Fast Sunday with this purpose in mind and also read Preach My Gospel from start to finish through the month.
• Youth Activities- For the YW, there is New Beginnings in the Primary Room on Feb 4^th at 7 PM.  Sunday dress and parents are invited.  For the YM, they will be having their Klondike Winter Outing on the 6^th and 7^th. 
• It’s Great to Be Eight!- Held Sunday Feb 8^th at 6 PM in the Relief Society Room.  This is for all 7 year olds turning 8 in 2015 and their parents. 
• Stake Women’s Conference- Saturday, February 28^th, 9-11 AM at the Stake Center.  An uplifting program of words and song followed by a brunch.  (Please note: childcare is NOT available at this event.)
• General Women’s Broadcast- Saturday, March 28^th , 6 PM.  More information coming but please put it on your calendars now.
• Service Activity- The Nampa Library will be moving books into their new building at the end of February.  This is a great opportunity to serve our community.  You can call the library to set up a time to help.
• Sister missionaries- We have the opportunity to feed the sister missionaries for a few days towards the end of February.  We will be sending around a sign up sheet and those who wish to sign up can do so.  If you are a sister in our ward who does not normally get to feed the missionaries, this is a great chance for you to do so.
• Birthdays- Happy Birthday to Sister Sarah Tuttle on the 3^rd, Sister Dorothy Jarrett on the 5^th, Sister Melanie Fillmore and Brianne Squires on the 6^th , and Sister Jasmine Christensen on the 7^th.
