Announcements 01/01

Dear Sisters,

Our lesson this week was from Sister Hanks on Chapter 25 of the Joseph Fielding Smith manual: The Birth of Jesus Christ: “Good Tidings of Great Joy” President Smith said, “How can anyone read this touching story of the birth of Jesus Christ without wishing to forsake his sins? At this season of the year it is well for one and all—the king in his palace, if there are kings in palaces now, the peasant in his humble cottage, the rich and the poor alike—to bow the knee and pay honor to him who was without sin, whose life was spent in sacrifice and sorrow for the benefits of his fellow man; whose blood was shed as a sacrifice for sin. …”Sister Hanks showed us this beautiful Christmas video also.
Next week’s lesson will be from the following General Conference talks (please print out and bring them with you.):  Approaching the Throne of God with Confidence, Elder Jorg Klebingat, October 2014  Like a Broken Vessel, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, October 2013

Announcements:  Visiting Teaching- please contact your sisters before the end of the month.  Everyone needs visiting!  (Don’t forget to report to your supervisor- Sister Aldous, Sister Hansen or Sister Burch- when you are done so that we know as a presidency who still needs to be contacted.  Thank you!) The lesson can be found here.

2015 manuals- We will be learning from President Ezra Taft Benson in Relief Society and Priesthood next year.  New manuals are available.  The church is encouraging us to use our mobile devices if you have them, but if you need an actual paper manual, we do have a few available.  Those wishing to donate $2 for the cost of the manuals may do so on their tithing slips (this is not a requirement though).

New Church Schedule- Starting in January, our ward will move to the 1:00 time slot.

Senior Singles Activities (please call Sister Mary Cordingly with questions) Dec 21st 7:00 PM- Musical Fireside at the Greenhurst Building
