Service opportunities and Sunday Lesson

Sisters,   I've got a full e-mail for you all today!   1) The Bartschi's are moving some things into their new place tonight and need some help unloading boxes at 5:30. Their new address is 19652 Cumberland Way. Take Linden to Ward and they are in the Delaware Park Subdivision.   2) We have a family in need of some warm blankets for the winter. Any size would be nice, but queen and king size would be especially helpful. If you are able to help out, please respond to this e-mail or contact any member of the RS presidency. Any of us would be happy to pick them up from you.   3) A reminder of a previous announcement, Marlis Maillet is looking for empty baby food jars, approximately 20. More are welcome if available. She needs to have them by Thanksgiving. Even if you only have 1 or 2, it will help and add up quickly. Please respond and let us know if you'll be able to collect some.   4) This coming Sunday the lesson will be from this past General Conference address, "No Other Gods" by Dallin H Oaks. Link to article can be found here.   Sisters, thank you all so much for your compassion, love, and service. It is a beautiful thing to witness.       RS Presidency                 Sister Willson                 Sister Nebeker                 Sister Eaton                 Sister Ricker

Cookie recipe. These were so good!

Hi Sisters!   After getting rave reviews on the scrumptious cookies Sister Nebeker made Sunday, I asked her for her recipe and she has obliged! :) Thank you Meghan!!  Her recipe is attached. And should any of you have extras floating around after making them...my door is open. :)

Andes Mint Cookies Recipe

1 Devil's Food Cake Mix
 or Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
1/2 cup oil

2 eggs

1 package of Andes Mints

Mix cake mix, oil, and eggs together. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 6-9 minutes. Don't cook any longer than that! You don't want them to be overdone!
Take sheet out of oven and while the cookies are still very hot, place an Andes Mint on top of each cookie. In about 5 minutes, the mint will be melted. Take a spoon and smooth out each mint like frosting.

Sunday's lesson

Sisters,   Our lesson for Sunday will be out of the Teachings of Lorenzo Snow, Chapter 20: The Kingdom of God Moves Forward. Our teacher for this Sunday has asked that you bring your books for marking. If you don't have a manual or are unsure of it's precise location, you can find the link to that chapter here. :)   Thank you Sisters!

RS Announcements: Primary slide show and Donation request

Hi Sisters,   I have two pieces of information/requests today.   1) It was announced on Sunday, but for those of you unable to make it, the primary presidency is putting together a slide show for the children to go with their new song "The Family is of God" for 2014. They would like to include photos of each family interracting with each other for that slide show. Please e-mail a picture of your family to the Primary Presidency at nampa36primary@gmail.com.   2) We wanted to send out an e-mail just one more time to see if there is anyone that has bunk beds that they are no longer in need of that would be willing to donate to a family in need. If you do, please let us know.   Thank you Sisters!

New Relief Society Presidency

Dear Nampa 36th Ward Relief Society
There has been a change in the Nampa 36th Ward Relief Society and it comes with mixed emotions. We are sad to lose Janell, Margie, Mariah, and Christina who will be moving, and we are very grateful for the service that have given us while they were serving. It is definitely not an easy job and they have made a difference in our lives.
We are so blessed to have Priesthood leadership and for the inspiration that helps guide our church. These types of changes are not made easily and are only done after much prayer and thought.
Our new Presidency will do a wonderful job and I hope they know they have our love and support.

Good evening sisters!   Just sending out a follow up to an e-mail that Sister Bartschi sent about a week ago...we're looking for a few items for the family moving in with Sister Angel. They're in search of beds (queen or full and twin or bunk bed) and 2 month old baby girl clothes.   If you have any of these items that you're willing to give to the family, please let us know.   Thank you!   R.S.
